Internal Hemroid Treatment

There are many options when seeking hemroid treatment, we’ll take a look at the most commonly effective ones here.

* It’s important to include extra fiber in your diet and to drink plenty of water every day as this will prevent constipation. If you have constipation it will put pressure on the muscles of your bowel and will worsen your hemroids.

* There are foods that tend to worsen hemroid symptoms, the most common being nuts, coffee, all alcohols and spicy foods. If you notice another type of food making your hemroids worse, try abstaining for a few days and see if there is a positive effect.

To get complete comfort, spend ten minutes placing ice on the affected spot and then the next 20 minutes, covering the area with a damp, warm cloth.

Using unscented baby wipes is a better way then wiping or rubbing after bowel movement.

* Keep sitting or standing in one place to a minimum – move around.

Bed rest will alleviate pressure on the sphincter muscles and allow your hemroids to heal if you are having a horrible flare up of your piles.

* Some find relief by taking a sitz bath several times a day, to do so you just soak the area in warm water for about 15 minutes.

* Stop using any soaps or other products with dyes or perfumes; switch to products that don’t have as many chemicals.

Cotton undergarments absorb all moisture (even from sweating), which will result in worsening hemroids.

Zinc, a known skin protectant is present in “Baby diaper rash cream” which helps in protecting babies’ delicate anal skin and itching in it.

Suppositories, for example Tucks and Preparation H, are a hemroid treatment that must be used with care, if they are used longer than the recommended 7-10 days, damage to the anal tissue can be the unfortunate result.

Anti-inflamitories such as hydrocortisone creams that can help inflammation as well as itching are available at your drugstore. Your doctor can prescribe a higher concentration if the over the counter strengths don’t provide relief.

* You can find numbing sprays at drugstores to make it hurt less.

Unfortunately, these treatments don’t work for everyone. It is common to still experience itching, burning, bleeding and pain from your internal hemroids even if you have tried traditional treatments. Even if the treatments above cover up symptoms, or temporarily relieve them, you’ll often find the hemroids come back. There is a true hemroid treatment that exists, rather than masking the symptoms. You should to approach your medical professional before embarking on any hemroid treatment.
